Enigma School of Pottery

Pottery classes and workshops are run in Frome by Jenny Barton (BA Hons Ceramic Design)  in our spacious, well equipped studio near Bath (see map).

If you have always wanted to try your hand at making a pot or sculpture, or want a new hobby then we run a range of classes and workshops for adults and children.  Adult classes last for 2 hours and are suitable for beginners and experienced potters alike. We also run pottery parties for either adults or children, and occasional seasonal workshops ideal for anyone who loves craft.  Details of all classes and workshops can be found below – you can be assured that all our classes and workshops are fun and creative!  Read some exciting blogs from some of my students here

Fees are payable in advance to secure a place.

Enigma pottery classes, Bath

Due to the popularity of the BBC television series The Great Pottery Throw-down and subsequent high demand, I am re-introducing private throwing tuition.  You can learn to throw a pot on the wheel or refresh your throwing skills.  Telephone or email to book a time slot or buy a voucher.

1 hour individual session £55
2 hour individual session £95
1 hour for 2 people £85
2 hours for 2 people £150

Select and have two pots fired and glazed for each hour of tuition

Alternatively book a follow-up session to learn the art of turning and slip decorating your pots at £15 per pot.

Pottery making parties are a popular choice for  adults whether it is a birthday, hen party or family get-together.
Your group of any ability can enjoy making and decorating their own pot or creative sculpture at a time and date to suit you.

Pottery parties are held at the studio in Frome, near Bath.
One hour £15.00 per head – One and a half hours £20 – Two hours £25 per head
All materials and firings included.  A £5 deposit per head is required on booking.

Jenny holds regular adults pottery classes at the Enigma studio in Frome. The classes are suitable for beginners or experienced potters as Jenny will always be on hand to offer guidance to inexperienced members.

Mondays 7pm to 9pm
Tuesdays  10am to 12 noon, 7pm to 9pm
Wednesdays 7pm to 9pm
Thursdays 12:30pm to 2:30pm
Fridays 10am to 12 noon
Maxiumum 6 per class
Pottery Classes For Adults – FEE £96 plus a charge for fired work based on weight.
The next block of 6 sessions start 31st October 2017

adult pottery classes Frome, Enigma Pottery

Jenny holds regular children’s pottery classes at the Enigma studio and holds a current CRB check. Each child is encouraged to be creative as well as learning the skills of hands-on 3d construction in clay.  Although projects may be set, children are able to work at their own pace.
Tuesdays 4pm to 5pm

The fee is £48 for a 6 week block plus a charge for fired work based on weight.

The next block of classes start on the 31st October 2017
