Turning and Decorating your thrown pots – a 2 hour workshop

£75.00£110.00

After you have made your pots on the throwing wheel and left them to dry for a couple of days, you can refine them by using metal tools to take the excess clay off the bottom.  This is called turning.
When you have trimmed your pots to the desired shape we will show you how to apply handles. You will then have your finished mugs/jugs/vases or bowls ready to decorate.  We will show you some of the variety of techniques of decorating using coloured slips (stained clay).  The decorated pots will be left for drying and their first firing after which we will coat in a clear glaze and refire ready for collection approximately two weeks later.
Allow 1 hour for 2 pots and 2 hours for 4 pots per person

Available times:
Mondays  1pm-3pm
Wednesdays 10am-12pm
Fridays 2pm-4pm, 6pm-8pm
